Die Künstlerstadt Kalbe, ein innovatives Projekt in der Altmark (Sachsen-Anhalt) mit dem Ziel dem demografischen Wandel mittels Kunst und Kultur zu begegnen, vergibt Stipendien für einen Arbeitsaufenthalt.

Gemäß dem Konzept der sozialen Skulptur nach Joseph Beuys versteht sich die Künstlerstadt Kalbe als ein Ort, an dem die schöpferische Kraft der Kunst entfaltet werden soll, um eine freie, nachhaltige und lebenswerte Gesellschaft aufzubauen.
Über sechs Wochen werden nationale und internationale Künstler:innen aller Richtungen (Bildende Kunst, Literatur, Darstellende Kunst, Musik, Film, Photographie, Medienkunst, interdisziplinäre Projekte) eingeladen, in Kalbe an einer solchen sozialen Skulptur mitzuwirken und eigene Projektideen miteinzubringen.
Das Stipendium umfasst
Kostenfreie Unterkunft
Temporäre, außergewöhnliche Ateliers und Arbeitsräume
Grundstock an Werkzeug und technischem Equipment
Finanzierung einer Reisekostenpauschale und ggf. Zuschlag zur Visagebühr (ausschließlich für aus dem Ausland anreisende Stipendiat:innen)
Künstler:innenpatenschaft eines Kalbensers während des Aufenthalts
Leistungen der Stipendiat:in
Teilnahme an wöchentlichen Atelier-Rundgänge mit Artist Talks und Präsentation der eigenen Arbeit
Anwesenheit des Künstlers/der Künstlerin während der gesamten Residenz
Darüber hinaus besteht die Möglichkeit weitere Programmpunkte zu gestalten z.B. in Form einer Ausstellung, Performance, Lesung, eines Workshops oder eines anderen Formates
Die Ausschreibung richtet sich an

Künstlerstadt Kalbe, an innovative project in the Altmark region (Saxony-Anhalt) with the goal of countering demographic change through art and culture, is awarding scholarships for a working residency for the 9th time.
In accordance with the concept of a social plastic referring to Joseph Beuys, Künstlerstadt Kalbe sees itself as a place where the creative power of art is to be unleashed in order to build a free, sustainable and liveable society.
For six weeks, national and international artists of all disciplines (fine arts, literature, performing arts, music, film, photography, media art, interdisciplinary projects) are invited to participate in such a social sculpture in Kalbe and to contribute their own project ideas.
The scholarship includes
Free accommodation for the scholarship holders
Temporary, exceptional studios and working spaces
Basic stock of working materials, tools and technical equipment
Funding of a travel allowance and, if applicable, a supplement to the visa fee (exclusively for scholarships arriving from abroad)
Artist sponsorship of a Kalbenser during the stay
Contribution of the scholarship holder
Participation in weekly studio tours with artist talks and presentation of own work
Presence of the artist during the residency
In addition, there is the possibility to organize further program points, e.g. in the form of an exhibition, performance, reading, workshop or other formats
